For beginners:

Being the fist time to take Santo Daime, you have to participate in the admission interview (see above), where you will be prepared and learn about regulations, rules and the objective of the doctrine of Santo Daime. You will learn how to proceed in a spiritual work and receive information about what might happen when you drink Santo Daime. Furthermore participants of the interview will receive more crucial information about our doctrine.

Here some basic information:

The participant must not use T-shirts, shirts/blouses in dark colors, red or black. Preferably you can use white or any other soft color.

Women must use long skirts and should not wear low-cut sleeveless blouses and transparences.

Try to arrive at least half an hour before the start of the session.

Every Church of Santo Daime has its contribution rate in order to keep operating costs, always ask about the contribution at the entrance of the church before the session.

We recommend sexual abstinence and suggest not to have contact to alcohol or toxic substances within 3 days before and 3 days after the spiritual work (seesion of Santo Daime).

According to the Brazilian laws the use of drugs such as as marijuana, alcohol, cocaine, crack, etc. , IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED ! ... The Igreja Céu do Ceará totally agrees with those laws and prohibits the use of any kind of drugs or alcohol in it´s area. It is also not allowed to visit the church under influence of drugs or alcohol.

About interview and anamnesis form:

During the interview with our Godparent and leader of our church before your first visit, you will give some basic information about yourself. The questions are about your mental condition, drug problems, medications which you are taking, diseases and so on. As in the sessions of Santo Daime occurs an alteration of the state of consciousness, the direction of the spiritual session has to be sure that there are no contra-indications, such as medical treatment or other conditions which would have a negative effect in cause of participation. The admission form will include a final declaration that you have been briefed and that all the information of the anamnesis is correct which you will have to sign.
